Terms of Service
The deal in plain language
By creating an account on GrooveBoard, you agree to these Terms. We agree to run the service responsibly and respect your privacy (see the Privacy Policy). You agree to use it for lawful purposes and not for the things listed in the Acceptable Use Policy below.
Who we are
GrooveBoard is operated by Maple Groove Inc., a corporation registered in Alberta, Canada. Contact: [email protected].
Your account
- You must provide accurate first and last name when signing up. GrooveBoard is built for professional sharing contexts and does not support anonymous accounts.
- You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity on your account.
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- You may invite other users via the user-invitation feature, subject to any per-user invite limits we set.
Your content
You own everything you create on GrooveBoard. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to host, transmit, back up, and display your content as needed to operate the service for you and the users you share with. We do not claim ownership of your content and we don't use it to train AI models.
Acceptable Use Policy
You may not use GrooveBoard to create, store, share, or transmit any of the following:
- Content involving the sexual exploitation or abuse of minors ("CSAM"). We have a zero-tolerance policy. Any detected CSAM will be reported to the Canadian Centre for Child Protection (cybertip.ca) and law enforcement, and the offending account will be terminated immediately.
- Content that promotes, plans, or facilitates terrorism or violent extremism, including target lists, operational planning materials, or recruitment content.
- Content that incites violence or hatred against people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
- Malicious code — viruses, worms, ransomware, exploits, credential stealers, or anything intended to damage, exfiltrate, or take unauthorized control of computer systems.
- Stalking, harassment, or threats directed at any individual.
- Doxxing — sharing private personal information about someone without their consent.
- Fraud and impersonation — phishing kits, fake-identity content, financial scams, or content intended to deceive others into transferring money or credentials.
- Illegal activity — content that violates Canadian federal or provincial law, including controlled-substance trafficking lists, weapons trafficking, or human trafficking material.
- Pirated or counterfeit content, or any content that infringes someone else's intellectual property.
- Spam and abuse of the platform — bulk unsolicited messaging, mass-share abuse, or attempts to circumvent rate limits or security controls.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. We may report content to law enforcement when legally required or when we determine it's necessary to prevent imminent harm.
Service availability
GrooveBoard is currently in private soft-launch. We aim for high availability but do not yet provide an uptime guarantee. We may schedule maintenance windows or apply emergency fixes that briefly interrupt service.
Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Use of GrooveBoard is at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Maple Groove Inc.'s total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you have paid us in the past 12 months, or (b) CAD $100. We will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
Termination
You may delete your account at any time via the in-app settings (or by emailing us). We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, fail to pay fees we may impose in the future, or if continued service creates legal or operational risk.
On termination, we will delete your board content as described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post material changes here and email registered users at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use GrooveBoard after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Alberta, Canada, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts.
Reporting violations
To report a violation of the Acceptable Use Policy or any other concern, email [email protected]. For CSAM specifically, you may also report directly to cybertip.ca (Canadian Centre for Child Protection) or to law enforcement.
